This is an entertaining introduction to the Sonoran Desert. Full-page color illustrations capture the colors of the desert, its plants and wildlife. It is unique among deserts for having more rainfall on average than other similar ecosystems. Also discussed are the threats to the Sonoran Desert and what citizens can do about them.
"Acknowledging climate change and actively conserving the desert now is our best hope for protecting this astonishing, astounding, and amazing ecosystem for the future." Harriet and Andrew Smith.
Books will be available for sale and signing after the presentation.
This program supports the City of Mesa’s Climate Action Plan (MCAP), a Mayor and Council priority initiative to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, build resilience in our community, and address the negative outcomes of a changing climate.
