Program Description
Event Details
From January through March, the Mesa Public Library is hosting mystery author and writing coach Betty Webb as its very own Writer in Residence. Betty will use the library as her workspace and hold one-on-one consultation hours to help aspiring authors fine-tune their work. To book your appointment, visit our sign-up form. Betty Webb is the author of the nationally best-selling Lena Jones mystery series and the humorous Gunn Zoo mysteries. Before beginning to write full time, Betty worked as a journalist, interviewing U.S. presidents, astronauts who walked on the moon, Nobel Prize winners, polygamy runaways, and more. She has taught creative writing classes and workshops at Arizona State University and Phoenix College and has been a nationally-syndicated literary critic for thirty years. In addition to other organizations, Betty is a member of the National Federation of Press Women, Mystery Writers of America, and Sisters in Crime. This program is supported by the Arizona State Library, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
