Voices of the East Valley

Voices of the East Valley showcases community-based storytelling through the Latinx Oral History Lab at Arizona State University. Dr. Rafael Martínez and Dr. Vanessa Fonseca-Chávez will share how oral history projects—including Atmospheres of Belonging in Mesa and Querencia Chandler—document everyday experiences of place, memory, and belonging across the East Valley. The program highlights how community voices and lived experiences deepen our understanding of the region’s cultural history.
