Event Details

The exhibition celebrates the accomplishments of Veterans of color from Mesa's once segregated community known as Washington Park. Today, it is known as Washington-Escobedo, a Heritage Neighborhood. The exhibit includes African-American, Latino and Native American veterans from the American Civil War, WWI and WWII.

The month-long exhibit features storyboards with a brief history about the Veterans, Buffalo Soldier Uniforms, and an array of Combat badges and medals.

Created, written and curated by Bruce Nelson. Sponsored by Gorman & Company INC. and Pomeroy's Men's and Missionary Store.
