Event Details
Discover the extraordinary and often untold stories of the women who played critical roles during World War II. This engaging program highlights the women sent to Europe to provide vital battlefield communications, the remarkable life of Cornelia Fort—who was flying over Pearl Harbor during the Japanese attack—and the trailblazing Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASPs), which Fort later joined.
Participants will also learn about the “Six Triple Eight,” the all-Black, all-female battalion tasked with clearing massive mail backlogs to boost troop morale, as well as the brilliant women codebreakers who helped crack Japanese and German military codes. The program concludes with a look at the women on the home front, including the iconic “Rosie the Riveter,” who stepped into once-forbidden roles to manufacture the supplies that kept the troops moving.
This program celebrates courage, ingenuity, and resilience, shedding light on the vital contributions women made both overseas and at home during World War II.
