The March book for IDEAS book group (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Sustainability) is Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson.

By exploring the history of America as an unrecognized caste system, the author has given a fresh perspective to the problem of slavery in this country. It is easy to be judgmental and suggest solutions for the well-known caste system in India, for instance.  For Americans, it still feels too personal, too raw, to deal with racism.  By looking at it almost academically, comparing it to its international "twins", perhaps we can come together and find a better way to correct generational injustices.
