North Town explores the once segregated Black community of Mesa Arizona from the early 1900's to 1980's. The documentary highlights this small community now known as Washington-Escobedo Park Neighborhood and introduces the audience to residents from the past and present. Their stories and experiences include the national Civil Rights Movement, professional sports, activism, politics, churches and the reality of racism. Question and answer session with director Bruce Nelson will follow the screening.
