Event Details

University of Arizona Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners are certified volunteers who answer questions about gardening, landscaping, plant identification, and plant problems.

Arizona’s desert regions are a challenge for cultivating plants in the best of times.  When a heat wave or drought comes to the desert, many plants can be pushed over the edge.  These are times when some extra attention and care can get them through the worst of the weather. In this class, Master Gardeners will provide recommendations from the UArizona Maricopa County Cooperative Extension for protecting your plants from heat and monsoon stress.

This program supports the City of Mesa’s Climate Action Plan (MCAP), a Mayor and Council priority initiative to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, build resilience in our community, and address the negative outcomes of a changing climate.
