Join the Mesa Public Library and curator, Bruce Nelson, for the opening ceremony of the Veterans of Washington-Escobedo Community exhibition. In celebration of Black History Month, The Buffalo Soldiers of the Arizona Territory, Mesa, will provide a special presentation of the flags on the West lawn of the Main Library.

The exhibition celebrates the accomplishments of Veterans of color from Mesa's once segregated community known as Washington Park. Today, it is known as Washington-Escobedo, a Heritage Neighborhood. The exhibit includes African-American, Latino and Native American veterans from the American Civil War, WWI and WWII.
