In July and August, Mesa Public Library is hosting author Shonna Slayton as its Writer in Residence. Shonna will use the library as her public workspace and hold office hours to help aspiring authors fine-tune their work.

Learn the basics of word processing with Microsoft Word and Lynda.com. Students must be comfortable with using a keyboard and mouse. Seating is limited. Please register on the Events Calendar @ MesaLibrary.org

Join us for songs, stories, words, letters, numbers, and general silliness in this kindergarten readiness storytime.

Each storytime teaches the skills of science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM). Seating is limited. Ages 4-7.

During this class, you will learn about 3D printing and how to use our 3D printers, the MakerBot Replicator 2 and the MakerBot 5th Generation. When the class is over, you can sign a waiver and begin self-reserving the printers.

Sing and jam with other skilled music enthusiasts! Come ready to sing or play in various chords and a variety of musical genres. Participants must be comfortable sight-reading music.

Toddler Time incorporates stories, music, and movement for children ages 16-36 months. Bubbles and communal play wrap up this good time for children and their caregivers.

During this class, you will learn how to use our Brother CS-6000i sewing machine. When the class is over, you can sign a waiver and begin self-reserving the sewing machine. If under 18, a parent or guardian must be present to sign the waiver.

Local Author/Illustrator Cindy M. Bowles -aka CillyArt - will provide drawing tips and techniques for budding young artists. Supplies will be provided, bring your sketchbook and drawing board if you have them. Ages 6-12.

Lions Club representatives are available to help you select free reading glasses, non-prescription sunglasses, and glasses cases. They will also accept eyewear donations. This is a FREE community service.

Permaculturist Rachel Bess will show you how easy it is to keep chickens in your backyard. Chickens make great pets, efficient bug and weed eaters and excellent soil tillers, not to mention that they provide us with wonderful fresh eggs!

Come explore your creative side at the library with LEGO. Children can either follow a monthly theme or build from their imaginations. LEGO and DUPLO blocks will be provided.
