From February through April, the Mesa Public Library is hosting author and writing coach Sheila Grinell as its very own Writer in Residence. Sheila will use the library as her workspace and hold one-on-one consultation hours to help aspiring authors fine-tune their work. Consultations may be held by phone, email, or Zoom, as arranged with Sheila. To book your appointment, visit our sign-up form.

Sheila Grinell is the author of Appetite and The Contract.  In her first career as a creator of science museums, she also wrote A Place for Learning Science, the leading guide to interactive science museums for people working in them.  Sheila is the former and founding CEO of the Arizona Science Center.  Writing is her second career.  She is presently working on her third novel, as yet untitled, about a contemporary pioneer, a young woman from Pennsylvania who comes to post-pandemic Arizona to make a better life. She writes daily from 9:00-11:00am. Questions are welcome.

This program is supported by the Arizona State Library, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
