Learn about different cultures through food by passing the plate! We will explore how common everyday foods are utilized in various types of cooking. Together, we will cook a simple dish so you can experience food for yourself. 

Come for a fun engaging outdoor STEAM program designed to spark curiosity and creativity in young minds!  Each session features hands-on, nature-inspired activities that blend science and art in exciting ways.

Are you a fan of the Pokémon© Trading Card Game? Then the Red Mountain Trading Card Game Club is the place for you! Bring your most powerful Pokémon© deck to the library and play against other kids in your community.

Using graham crackers, frosting, and a variety of candies, builders design and construct sweet gingerbread houses. Participants will be provided with supplies and guidelines to follow to meet the building challenges. Ages 8-12.

Come make a wreath out of recycled book pages. Ages 8-12.

Cut tissue paper into festive fringe, then add glue and ribbon to create an ornament that celebrates the Latin American tradition of piñatas. Suitable for ages 5-12.

Families can ride or scoot over to the Dobson Library for a fun and educational morning! Get fitted for a free bike helmet and learn safe cycling tips from John Boyd, Injury Prevention Specialist at Phoenix Children’s.

Has your child outgrown their bike? Is that old bike taking up valuable space? Donate it to Bob’s Free Bikes! Bob’s Free Bikes provides bicycles to children (18 and under) in the greater Phoenix metro area who might not otherwise have one.

We’ll break out games and cards and families can choose their favorites to play. Playing games helps develop your imagination, teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Come explore your creative side at the library with LEGO®. Children can either follow a monthly theme or build from their imaginations. LEGO® and Duplo® blocks will be provided. Ages 5-12.

Join us as we explore the exciting world of STEAM! Each month we’ll focus on a new topic—like robotics, forensic science, digital art, or geometry—through hands-on activities and creative experiments.

Join us each month for an hour of crafting. Drop in to create your own art or join in on the theme. This month’s theme: winter forest. Ages 8+

Make your own candy filled sleigh at the library! We will provide the chocolate candy, wrapping paper, and candy canes; We just need you to supply yourself!

Get into the holiday spirit at the library with a very special guest—Mrs. Claus! She’ll be here to share festive stories and sing cheerful songs.

Families who craft together stay together. We’ll provide supplies, tools, and ideas to get you started, but the final creation is up to you.

Help us ring in the "Noon Year" with a party just for kids! Who says you need to stay up until midnight to celebrate? We'll have stories, party hats, noise makers, and plenty of other surprises.

We’ll break out the puzzles and families can choose their favorites to put together. Puzzles are beneficial for cognitive function, problem solving, and spatial reasoning.
